If It Ain’t Broke Don’t Fix It

I am so tired of people trying to change things that have been in existence for so many years, you know those things we have known all of our lives. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Everything has to be so politically correct and it's driving me crazy. I don't understand why we have to change everything these days.

Let me just start with Aunt Jemima, its legendary. First of all when you pull out the bottle of syrup, you know you are about to get some goodness. Second of all, her bright shiny happy face just makes you feel good while eating warm pancakes. Her portrayal on the bottle was historic and wonderful. There was no malicious intent. In fact her own family didn't want them to change the name or take her off. The new design is boring and brings no excitement just looking at it.

Are Wheaties going to change their history because Michael Jordon, Magic Johnson, and Bo Jackson were on the cover. Is it offensive that Wheaties was celebrating and honor the achievements of these individuals?

Now, they want to remake the Wizard of Oz? What???? Some things shouldn't be touched and Wizard of Oz is one of them. We don't need a modern day interpretation of the movie. Will the yellow brick road be allowed to be yellow? Will they allow little people to be in the movie. Will the lion, the scarecrow, and the tin man be able to talk and dance. Will the Emerald City be allowed to be green?

Sometimes things aren't offensive they are just there for enjoyment.  Did anyone ever stop to think that some of these things bring joy to people. Difference of opinion is what makes the world go round. I like and appreciate a lot of things and if someone doesn't agree, I'm ok with that. If I don't like something others do, that's their business. That affects them not me.

So if ain't broke don't fix it.
