Not that we needed an extra reason to snuggle with a significant other on Valentine's Day weekend--but we're getting one anyway. Frigid temperatures will move into our area over the next few days and hang around with freezing fog and drizzle to make things a bit challenging... There's also a possibility we could see snow as well! Forecasters are issuing advisories for the surrounding areas in the Permian Basin around the Midland-Odessa area, and it's a really good idea--if you aren't working from home and have to go in--that you allow plenty of extra time for travel over the next few days.

We're talking temperatures in the teens Saturday night going into Sunday and we may not even break those teens for a high on Cupid's Day.... So maybe while you're out doing your last minute Valentine's Day shopping--pick up one of those over-sized soft furry blankets for that special someone... Or perhaps some logs for the fireplace. Even some hot cocoa or hot apple cider at the grocery store. Plan for an evening with a fire, a pizza and a movie if you can't brave the cold.

If the cold doesn't slow you down--there are plenty of events going on this weekend like the Texas Country Bash at the Hacienda, for instance. Friday, hit the Odessa Marriott for the JHWCC's Hope Wins Banquet featuring comedian Michael Jr and vocalist Erica Lane. For more on that click here. Saturday night, take your sweetie to see Aaron Watson, Randall King and Josh Ward! Tickets here, tables call 432-563-3737. Listen to us in the morning and we'll keep you posted on the latest weather and updates on any advisories for the listening area.
