Can you believe it's already Easter. Easter has snuck up on us this year. I am so glad we get to have annual traditions and activities again.

The City of Midland is hosting the annual Easter Egg Eggstravagana this Thursday. 15,000 eggs are up for grabs this Thursday at the MLK jr Community Center, 2300 Butternut Lane.

The event is free and open to the public. Children ages 12 and under are invited to attend. There will be different age groups the children will hunt in. The age groups are 0-3 years old, 4-5 years old, 6-8 years old, 9-10 years old and 11-12 years old.

The egg hunting will begin at 6pm. The hunts will go from youngest to oldest.

Also if you would like to take pictures with the Easter Bunny, you can get your picture taken beginning at 5pm. The cost of the photos will be $5 and the proceeds will benefit the Municipal Employee Scholarship fund.

I remember one time my mom took me to the city Easter egg hunt in Seminole and she got so mad at me because when it was time for my age group I didn't take off like the other kids did. You may not know this but I get embarrassed when I have to do things like that in front of other people. I knew I wasn't the fasted kid out there so I didn't want everyone to see me behind all of the other kids. She was mad because she thought I wanted to go but I really didn't, I think she was the one that wanted me to go.
