Calling All Bakers The Salvation Army Is Looking For You

The Salvation Army in Midland is hosting a Christmas in July Bake Off and they need your help. If you just love to bake or you are a professional baker you are invited to join.

The Christmas In July Bake Off will take place on Saturday, July 24th from 11a-3p at the VFW in Midland. Registration for the event opens today form 1-4pm at the Midland Salvation Army located at 600 W Wall St. Participants will have until May 14th to register. There is a $75 registration fee. The fee includes advertising and the ability to sell your treats at a vendor table.

This is event is open to everyone, you don't have to be a professional baker, just love to bake. They are looking for the very best and most creative cookies, cupcakes, and desserts.

All bakers competing will need to provide two dozen cookies, cupcakes or pastries for the competition. Additional desserts and baked goods can be sold throughout the bake off.  For more information please contact Monica Gomez at 432-556-2093. You can also go to www.salvationarmymidland.org.

The Christmas In July Bake Off is set to be a fun for the entire family that will include music, face painting, balloon art for children of all ages, and special guest judges.

The pandemic has severely impacted the programs and services of The Salvation Army as the needs of the community have expanded. More people than ever have requested assistance with jobs being cut, hours being cut, and many not being able to keep up with rent and bills.
