I couldn't wait for this album to come out. From the very first time I heard Carrie Underwood sing "How Great Thou Art," I knew I would love a gospel album from her. Carri recently said in an interview " a gospel album was something that she knew she eventually wanted to do."
A gospel album is not a new thing for a country artist to do, Reba did one a couple of years ago and I absolutely love it.
I love the old hymns, especially when someone with a voice like Carrie or Reba sings those old songs with such passion. These are the songs I grew up with singing in church.
The old songs just have so much meaning and passion and sincerity behind them, Plus, it just takes me back to sitting on the pew with my parents and grand parents. Side note, when we were little my Nannie would keep a little pill box with orange
tick tacks in it and if we were good we could have one after church.
If you didn't get a chance to watch Carrie Underwood's special yesterday you can see it right here.
