This is just sad. An elderly woman in Killeen, Texas was the victim of car theft - by the same person who helped carry items into her house.

Now Killeen Police are asking for the public's help to find the man suspected of taking the keys and driving away in the vehicle after his 'good deed'.

Good Deed in Disguise

KWTX is reporting that on Sunday, October 2nd, the suspect helped an elderly woman bring items into her house. After she allowed him to come inside, the suspect took her car keys and stole her car from the driveway, according to police.

The stolen vehicle is a white 2017 Chevrolet Malibu displaying a Texas License Plate #RKF2592.

The most recent statistics for this year on the Killeen Police Department's website (under the heading 'Department Transparency-Crime Statistics') are from September 2022. According to the latest report, the property crime subtotal went up from 1,477 last September to a total this year of 2,732.

Car theft has risen in the last 12 months in Killeen. Out of total property crimes reported, 234 were stolen vehicles, and that number has risen to 494 as of September 2022.
