Happy Birthday to the Outlaw Johnny Paycheck

Born Donald Eugene Lytle in Greenfield, Ohio in 1938, Johnny Paycheck grew up preforming in talent contests since the age of nine. Paycheck later went on to work with the infamous George Jones and co-wrote Once You've Had the Best. With Outlaws of country such as Willie and Waylon, Johnny made most of his success in the mid to late seventies including what is to be said his most infamous hit, David Allen Coe's Take This Job and Shove It in November of 1977. Paycheck was a member of the Grand Ole Opry and was the recipient of an ACM Career Achievement award in 1977. Johnny was no stranger with the law and in 1985 was convicted of shooting a man in a bar. He was sentenced to seven years in prison but only served two. Paycheck passed away at the age of 64 in 2003 in Nashville from complications related to emphysema and asthma. He would be 79 today.
