Every Wednesday at 9:10am, Gwen and Gunner feature a different pet that needs a new forever home here in the Basin. Sometimes it's a dog, sometimes it's a cat. They haven't had any guinea pigs, hamsters, birds or snakes---yet. But you never know!

He is a 1.5 year old male beagle mix that just wants a family of his own! As you can see he loves his pool! Car rides are also a favorite activity! Quill is very sweet and his only requirement is he needs to be adopted by someone that has a fenced in backyard! He would be a great family dog and would love a child that would run and play with him! Although he has a fair amount of energy, he also enjoys pets and snuggles. Quill has been neutered and is up to date on all of his vaccines. If you would like to meet Quill, our visiting hours are 1:4:30pm everyday except Thursdays.

LOOK: Here Are 30 Foods That Are Poisonous to Dogs

To prepare yourself for a potential incident, always keep your vet's phone number handy, along with an after-hours clinic you can call in an emergency. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center also has a hotline you can call at (888) 426-4435 for advice.

Even with all of these resources, however, the best cure for food poisoning is preventing it in the first place. To give you an idea of what human foods can be dangerous, Stacker has put together a slideshow of 30 common foods to avoid. Take a look to see if there are any that surprise you.
