It's almost Halloween everyone! Do you have your costumes all ready to go? I know the kids can't wait to go trick or treating, maybe some of you adults are excited about trick or treating. No matter what you do this Halloween have fun and stay safe. Here are some family-friendly events happening in Midland this week and weekend.

Wednesday, Oct 26th

Trunk Or Treat at Scharbauer Flats, 1915 East Scharbauer Drive from 5p-9p. Enjoy photo booths, lots of candy, games, bounce houses, and prizes.

Thursday, October 27th

Halloweenfest is brought to you by the City of Midland's Parks and Rec department. This event will be at the Martin Luther King Jr Center on Butternut Lane, from 6-8p.

Family Science Night: Mad Science,  "Join us if you dare for a night of Mad Science on Thursday, October 27, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.  Have a frightfully good time channeling your inner mad scientist, experimenting with fizzing eyeballs, exploding ghost rockets, conducting candy engineering, and much more! Remember to wear your costume!"

Friday, October 28th

Trunk or Treat 2022 at Keller Williams, located at 4920 N. Midkiff, from 6-8 pm.  Bring the whole family out for our annual Trunk or Treat! You get to vote for your favorite and least favorite trunks, get lots of candy, and some great family photos!

Sci-Friday "The Thing" At the Museum of the Southwest, 1705 W Missouri Ave. The movie will be shown on the dome theater in the planetarium.  Doors open at 6:30 pm and the movie begins at 7:00 pm.  Refreshments are provided. The cost is $5 for non-museum members.

Midland's Trail of Horrors, 3112 South County Road 1197, they are ope:30n from 8:30-11. Midland Trail of Horrors is a fun, yet spooky, dark walk through a haunted estate home and trail! This attraction is a Hollywood movie classic known for its incredible detail, use of effects and audio-animatronics, and a cast of characters. Everyone is welcome! Admission is $20.

Saturday, October 29th

Cruisin' For A Cause, at the Midland County Horseshoe from 10 am-4 pm. Trophies will be awarded for first and second place for best in class, with several categories. There will also be a kid's zone full of games, races, and face painting. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place awards for best costumes, trunk or treating, food trucks and so much more! All proceeds will go to our cause, providing support and resources to individuals with Intellectual & Developmental disabilities. Be sure to come out and support us while doing a little trick or treating, shopping, enjoying our food trucks, and viewing fancy cars, trucks, jeeps, and bikes!

Running Fur Rescues at Midland College benefitting Lonestar Sanctuary for Animals. You and your pet come out in costume for this 5k. You can run or walk.

Peeps and Creeps Annual Trunk or Treat at A-Z Vet Clinic at 8535 Hwy 158. Not only will there be candy, but games, crafts, and treats. You know there will probably be some scary creatures there as well.

Barktoberfest with Midland Animal Services, at Beale Park. This pet adoption event will be from 10a-1 pm. Doggy dash, food trucks, Pie Eating Contests, bounce houses, and more Prizes for Costume Contest Winners ($5 donation to enter): Best Costume, Best Pet/Parent Costume, and Spookiest Pet Costume

Fiddlesticks Farms will be open both Friday and Saturday for tons of fun. Bring the family out as, they spook the maze, have fireworks and tons of candy as the candy blaster shoots candy in the air.
