Illegal Houston Butt Injections Turn Deadly for At Least 1 Woman
A Houston woman is being charged with manslaughter after administering silicone butt injects to a 38-year-old woman.
UNLICENSED AND UNPROFESSIONAL
47-year-old Lisa Fernandez held no proper license for the shady work she was doing. Butt injections have become a popular trend, however, according to specialists, silicone is not approved by the FDA for these types of procedures.
RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH SILICONE BUTT INJECTIONS
Dr. Matthew R. Greives explains the risk associated with using silicone butt injections, "That[silicone] travels in your bloodstream to your heart then lungs and it causes a massive blood clot but in this case its a clot of silicone in your lungs."
IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN DURING THE PROCEDURE
38-year-old Marja McClendon from St. Louis had received multiple silicone butt injections from Fernandez. A witness during the procedure was in a lot of pain. They had to stop the procedure several times because McClendon was having a hard time breathing.
A VERY FATAL PROCEDURE
McClendon went to the hospital but went back to Fernandez after she was unable to receive a refund. According to prosecutors, the woman had returned home and began coughing up blood. She soon died from a silicone pulmonary embolism. Dr.Greives warns, "In many cases[silicone butt injections] is unfortunately fatal."
