The City of Odessa is partnering with UTPB to provide COVID testing.

According the City of Odessa:

The City of Odessa, in partnership with the University of Texas Permian Basin, will be hosting a second round of free COVID testing events starting this week.

The first event takes place this

Wednesday, September 16th at McKinney Park (Christmas Line). Testing will be from 9:00AM to 11:00AM.

There will be three more events later this month and in October.

  • September 23rd - UTPB Park (Soccer Field Parking)
  • September 30th - Sherwood Park (E. 49th and Cordova Parking Lot)
  • October 14th - Floyd Gwin Park (W. 10th Parking Lot)

Due to the number of positive cases, our method of testing is drive-thru testing. 200 tests will be available, at each event, for City of Odessa and Ector County residents. It’s first come, first serve. Residents must show proof of residency and provide good contact information (phone number and email) in order to get results. Children as young as 3 years old are eligible for testing.

“The City Council, Staff and COVID-19 Taskforce for the City of Odessa recognize that COVID-19 is still present in our community and we remind everyone to still be vigilant,” said Phillip J. Urrutia, Assistant City Manager, City of Odessa. “City staff will continue a partnership with local health care professionals to offer FREE COVID-19 testing at community locations. Please bring an ID to the testing and follow all directions of staff members onsite.”
