After the discouraging news that the Mexican Pizza at Taco Bell was being taken off the menu earlier this year, they have reassured customers that it will be back permanently.

According to the Washington Post, the return of the Mexican Pizza is slated for September 15, 2022, never to be taken away from fans ever again.

“Taco Bell worked diligently to resolve depleted ingredients and supply chain challenges that originally caused longer gaps in the product’s availability,” said Taco Bell on its website.

Taco Bell first introduced the fan favorite in 2020 amid a pandemic that was challenging in all ways to the Mexican Pizza. Still, even with COVID, the menu item took off and became the company’s most popular item almost instantly.

Because of COVID, supply chain issues caused Taco Bell to stop making the Mexican Pizza because the demand was so huge.

But Taco Bell is prepared this time to handle the amounts of Mexican Pizzas they will have to make, so the menu item will now be permanent.

Another question on many minds is whether it will come back with its original ingredients, which the company is saying yes.

It will come complete with seasoned beef and refried beans between two fried flour tortillas, topped with pizza sauce, the famous three cheese blend, and fresh diced tomatoes.

Taco Bell has assured those still thinking this is just a limited offer by saying this:

“While LTOs [limited time offerings] are core to Taco Bell’s ability to churn out menu innovation, that wasn’t the plan for the Mexican Pizza,” the company said. “While demand and ingredient shortages delayed that permanency, it’ll be here to stay for good when it returns Sept. 15.”

So to all Mexican Pizza fans, your time to rejoice is here because, on Sept. 15th, the Mexican Pizza is here to stay.
