Summer is here-the season of weddings! And anyone who's ever been the asker or the asked knows there's a lot of pre-planning that goes into the whole thing... Of course, you want it to be a memorable event for everyone--so flowers, location (maybe the same spot you met or had your first date), maybe other family members included in attendance as a surprise, or a best friend from out of town to come in and witness... The speech / what you're going to say--And the biggest part--THE RING.

One thing though-at least according to this old Texas State law that we've uncovered--that you DON'T have to worry about--is getting a Marriage License. As long as both parties agree to be married, as long as both parties announce the other as their husband / as their wife in public three times, tell others you're married and live together as a married couple... Then in the eyes of the State of Texas--you're legally married. Just a couple of things though--you have to be a legal adult aged 18 or over, you can't already be married to someone else--and you can't already be related in any way. As long as you have those three bases covered-you're all set in Texas.
