The Sandhills Stock Show And Rodeo Is Back

The Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo is back! The Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo has been a staple in the Permian Basin for over 70 years.

The Sandhills Rodeo is the first pro rodeo of the year. Cowboys and Cowgirls come from all over to compete, and thank goodness rodeo has been one sport that has kept going during the pandemic.

This years events will be multiple full rodeo performances with a special section event scheduled on Thursday January  7th will only host bareback saddle bronc and bull riding.

There will be full rodeo performances on Friday and Saturday January 8th and 9th. The annual Super Tuesday Roping will be Tuesday January 12th.  Full rodeo performances will resume Wednesday Jan 13th- Saturday January 16th. Full rodeo performances include: bull riding, barrel racing, bare back riding, saddle bronc  and so much more. All events will start at 7:30pm. This is an event for all ages. You bring the entire family out and enjoy a night of wholesome fun.

This is not just a local rodeo, like I said before this is the first Pro-Rodeo of the year after the NFR. You will see pro rodeo and world champion cowboys and cowgirls from all over the world at the Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo.

The rodeo and stock show is a scholarship program that provides thousands of dollars for areal youth.

When I went to college my freshman year I always hung out with the rodeo crowd and became a huge fan. I would have loved to have been a barrel racer. I have even thought about taking riding lessons recently until I had my back surgery and had to put that on the back burner.
