Pure Country The Musical Coming To A Stage Near Your

"Pure Country," yes, you read that right! The iconic movie featuring George Strait, looking to escape all the smoke and the lights of show business, has been turned into the musical.

Before you rush off to think it will feature George Strait, I'm sorry to say it will not. The main character "Rusty," will be played by an actor named Harley Jay. The story is basically the same but with a few added extras. Lulu, Harley Tucker, and Grandma all sing in the musical version. There will be no barrel racing, due to fact there is not a stage big enough to allow for that.

The show opens this weekend a theater just outside of Dallas,  Irving Arts Center’s Carpenter Performance Hall. TICKETS are available at the venue's website.

The show runs through Sunday June 18th.
