Hank Jr. Returns To Monday Night Football
According to Sports Illustrated Hank Williams Jr. is returning to sing the historic Monday Night Football anthem.
Monday Night Football parted ways with Bocephus in 2011 after controversial comments made towards then President Barack Obama.
In a statement released to USA Today, Stephanie Druley, ESPN’s senior vice president of events and studio production, said, “I think it’s a return to our past in that it’s such an iconic song associated with football,” “It was the original." "It belongs to Monday Night Football. It really is about returning to what fans know. It’s a Monday night party and that’s what we’re all hoping to get back to.”
The historic theme will return to MNF, September 11th when the Vikings take on Saints.
Hank Williams Jr. was very excited. He replied in a statement saying, I hope there will be some happy people on Monday night again,” . “It feels natural, fulfilling and satisfying at this point when you’ve kind of done it all.”
He will perform each week and other artist performance will also be included to feature other types of artist.
