We have all been awaiting the opening of Chuy's in Midland and now we know it will open Tuesday, June 14.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, the Austin-based restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner 11 am-10 pm Sunday through Thursday, and 11 am-11 pm Friday and Saturday.

The menu features dishes made with homemade tortillas, customer favorites like the Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom Enchiladas, and the famous Big As Yo Face Burritos.

Happy Hour is weekdays from 3 pm-6 pm with drink specials and $5 chili con queso.

The decor will be the typical Chuy's flare with an Elvis shrine, La Chihuahua Bar with framed pictures of local dogs, hand-carved fish hanging from the ceiling, and the hubcap-covered ceiling.

“We have been blown away by the welcome we have received in this community before even opening our doors,” said Eric Stump, Chuy’s General Manager in Midland. “We are not only looking forward to offering the Permian Basin our popular Tex-Mex favorites but also to partner and give back to this amazing community.”

So put it on your calendar, set an alarm, and get ready for the opening on June 14th, I know I am looking forward to eating there since I have not eaten at a Chuy's in several years but I do remember the food was good at the one restaurant I visited in Austin.

If you do not know where Chuy's will be, it is located at 4609 W. Loop 250 where Logan's Roadhouse used to be, and trust me, it looks nothing like Logan's Roadhouse anymore.
