More New Restaurants Coming To The Basin And One Iconic Restaurant Closes For Good
Thanks to our friends at Maybe In Midland-Odessa for always keeping up posted on all the happenings around the Basin.
Let's get the bad news out of the way first. The Garlic Press in Midland served its last customer last Saturday. With no notice, The Garlic Press closed its doors. I know so many are so sad and loved that place.
Now for the new places!
Hawaiian Brothers Island Grill
Hawaiin Brothers Island Grill will be on the north side of Loop 250 next to Raising Canes Chicken. Hawaiin Brothers Island Grill is known for their "lunch plate." The idea of the "lunch plate started back in the late 1800s when plantation workers would bring their lunch to work that consisted of rice and meat from dinner the night before.
Their menu includes the lunch plate with your choice of protein, white rice, and macaroni salad or you can have the Pacific Island salad. The special ingredient is their sauces. I can't wait for them to open.
Starbucks
Obviously not a new establishment but North Odessa will be getting another Starbucks location at 87th and Dawn.
Leyenda Coffee and Tequila
Downtown Midland will get a new place to delight your palette whether it be morning noon or night. According to Maybe In Midland-Odessa this place will offer a different kind of coffee experience. They will be located at 301 W. Ohio Ave and are set to open in mid-June.
Taco Republic
I give you two guesses but you are only going to need one to figure this one out. Taco Republic is going in where Side Bar used to be in downtown Odessa.
Fuoco Italian
Fuoco will be opening in the location where Librado used to be on the Loop near Jason's Deli in Midland. So far all we know is it will be an Italian restaurant serving pizza and pasta. They are currently hiring staff.
