One can only hope to be lucky enough to celebrate our 100th birthday, but one Texas veteran is doin' it. Now, he needs your help to make it the best birthday yet.

World War II Veteran U.S. Army CPL Carl Reid is turning 100 on June 15th.

So what does he want for the big day?

He is asking for at least 100 cards from Texans to celebrate his centennial.

In his call for the cards, CPL Reid writes: “Hello, my name is Carl Reid. I am a proud World War II veteran! I will be turning 100 years old on June 15, 2023. For my birthday, I would like to receive 100 birthday cards. Thank you!”

CPL Reid is a resident at the Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home (TSVH) in Big Spring, Texas.

CPL Reid entered into active duty during World War II on September 26, 1944. Before the war, according to the Veterans Land Board, he was raised on a farm and became a farmer, growing cotton, corn and maize, along with caring for livestock.

During his time serving our country, he worked as a supply clerk managing several clerical and stock handling duties. He was also an Army truck operator transporting personnel, supplies and equipment.

CPL Reid received the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal for his service.

So how can Texans help him celebrate his big day?
