Monday morning on the show--we're talking about doing something you weren't qualified to do. And not like Leo DiCaprio in "Catch Me If You Can", where he just DRESSED the part of the Pilot or the Doctor. We mean actually doing something you shouldn't have done because you hadn't ever received the proper training or education to do so. I think there are probably a LOT of guys out there who have, like me because we're homeowners and are stubborn and don't want to PAY someone to do it--we've jumped in and "fixed" things we didn't necessarily know how to fix, or what we were doing for that matter.

Things like plumbing. I can recall trying to change the shower head in the master bath back in Illinois and completely screwing it up. The hand held shower head on a hose was too close to the wall so I attempted to install an extension pipe--and it was quite the eyesore all the way up til we sold the house to move here to Texas! I've also done some crazy things like replacing dimmer switches for lights in the basement, as well as electrical outlets in the bedrooms and bathrooms. I am NOT an electrician! I blame things like Youtube for making all of us guys "Do-It-Yourself-ers" by watching a how-to video then jumping right in! I found out the hard way over the years it's just better (and safer) to PAY someone who knows what they are doing to get the job done right.
