When we moved here from Chicago when I took this job back in July--neither my wife or I had ever lived in any dwelling with a skylight... Last night, while watching the season premeire of "This Is Us" (YAY! SO glad it's back!)--we got a hail storm coupled with some flurries and drizzle and fog... And if you've never heard the sound of hail hitting the glass of a skylight in your kitchen--it's quite the event! Startled both of us and made us both spring up out of our chairs and say "WHAT WAS THAT?!?!"... Opening up the back door and seeing what was going on put us at ease because the hail wasn't very big at all (if it HAD been we would have been up the creek because both of our cars are in the driveway since we still have boxes in there from the move)...

So that was a loud, startling experience last night being a homeowner in Midland. And now here we are with temps near 50 today and sunny and 74 Saturday. Needless to say, 2020 has been a crazy year and the weather has certainly been no exceptioon... But getting used to things here in Midland and happy to be here and we're looking forward to seeing what a real "winter" here is like, coming from the midwest and single digit temperatures. Be safe out there today--as there are still some slick spots on the roads and it'll be a bit before we get temps to melt everything... And we'll see ya on the radio!
