Granger Smith could have cast just about anyone to play his love interest in his new "You’re in It" music video, but when it came down to it, there was only one woman he had in mind.

"I’ve told her it’s getting to the point where we’ve done so many together that it would be really weird if all of a sudden I came up with a video where there was an actual love interest and it wasn’t her," Smith tells People magazine of asking wife Amber Bartlett Smith to portray the leading lady.

“I just sent her a text and I said, hey, I’ll shoot you the dates, but I think you’re going to be in the next video," he explains.

It was obviously natural — Amber didn't even need to exercise the skills she's mastered as a professional actress. The couple actually met on one of Smith's music video sets in 2009.

Smith does act a bit in the "You're in It" video, playing a guy who ends up working as a getaway driver for two bank robbers but ultimately chooses a life of love over crime. And with Amber to come home to, who wouldn’t?

The country star and his wife have been married since 2010 and now have three children together. All three — London, Lincoln and River — have appeared in various music videos through the years, and probably will again.

"They’ve been literally watching mom and dad in these music videos since they were infants. … They’re willing and they want to, and they always want to be with us," he says. "There they are, and hey, you know, it’s perfect. I guess it’s just who I am. Family is everything to me."
