Many times, Daylight Saving Time and Standard Time confuse people, as many of us forget when we go forward an hour and when we go back an hour. I know I forget. But if you just remember the old saying "spring forward, fall back", that will help. Daylight Saving Time begins in the spring and ends in the fall.

So when do we 'fall back' an hour to signal the end of Daylight Saving Time for 2023?

For most Americans, Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 5th, at 2 a.m. as we adjust our clocks back one hour to Standard Time. States like Arizona and Hawaii don't have to adjust their clocks each year since the federal government doesn't require states and territories to observe Daylight Saving Time.

With that being said, remember to set your clocks (alarms, microwaves, ovens, watches, etc) back an hour before you go to sleep on Sunday, November 5th.

However, you can choose not to change the clocks at all. But then you might be messing with your job at this point. You might also ask your kids how to change the time settings on various digital devices in your home if you're not very tech-savvy. That way you won't miss a step when the day actually arrives.

This time of year is also a good time to change the batteries in your smoke alarm as heaters will soon kick on and the potential for fire increases.

Enjoy that extra hour of sleep.
