Comedy Clubs That Are Definitely Worth Checking Out in Texas

I love going out & seeing concerts. But sometimes I want to sit down & enjoy watching a good comedy show. Thankfully in the state of Texas, there are dozens to choose from, so here are some of the best comedy clubs you can go to today.

Cap City Comedy Club (Austin): Since the 1980s, Austin's Cap City Comedy Club has a prime location for comedians to perform when passing through the state of Texas. Ron White, John Mulaney, Pete Davidson & Joe Rogan are some of the names who have performed. It's also the site of the annual "Funniest Person in Austin" contest & has been for well over a decade.

Esther's Follies (Austin): Another club in Austin, one that Trip Advisor says is the best in Texas, Esther's Follies combines theater, magic, political satire & comedy together. It has been a staple in Austin's history since 1977 & it's a place that certainly helps "keep Austin weird".

Hyena's Comedy Club (Dallas/Ft Worth): According to Best Things Texas's website, the Hyena's Comedy Club is considered one of the best comedy clubs in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. With big names like Jim Florentine, Nick Guerra, TJ Miller, & Fluffy all performing there, it's definitely a place that knows how to draw a crowd.

Houston Improv: The Improv comedy club has 4 locations in Texas but I specifically picked the Houston location for the amount of star power that has performed there in the past: Damon Wayans, Michael Rapaport, D.L. Hughley, Eddie Griffin among many others.

El Paso Comic Strip: Rounding out our list is our very own El Paso Comic Strip on Airway, formerly called Bart Reed's Comic Strip. Founded back in 1986, it's the longest running comedy club in Texas. During that time, SO many huge names have performed in El Paso: legends like Bill Hicks, Tracy Morgan, Charlie Murphy, Dave Chappelle Gilbert Gottfried just to name a few. Friends of the Buzz Adams Morning Show (including Nico himself) have performed there too like Carlos Mencia, Willie Barcena & Steve Trevino, You can see the whole list of people that have performed HERE.
