Islands.com recently ranked the best cities in the United States of America to retire in and while, as usual, Florida had a couple in the top 10,El Paso is right in there with 'em.
There are some things though that are very polarizing in El Paso, things that peeps draw a firm line through where it's either "hell yeah" or "F no". Here are, I think, the top 3:
The city of El Paso and the Ysleta Independent School District, (YISD), may shop locally here and there but, when it comes to everyday products and common supplies, Amazon is getting a BIG chunk of their money.
There's a new sheriff in town. Ok, it's not a new sheriff, it's the same old state troopers and the Texas Department of Public Safety is still handling all things driver license and ID related. They just don't want to deal with you personally. Which I am ... and I think most everyone else in the universe is also ... totally cool with.
