Cody Jinks Experiences Vertigo Onstage, Cuts Show Short
Cody Jinks found himself in a scary situation at a recent show: The country singer-songwriter experience a spell of vertigo onstage, which forced him to end his show early and head to the hospital.
Per Omaha.com, Jinks was performing at the SumTur Amphitheater in Papillion, Neb., on Friday night (June 22) when he began feeling dizzy. He'd played for more than an hour, and continued for four more songs before telling the audience that he needed to go to the hospital.
"Hey guys, they’re gonna take me to the hospital," Jinks told the crowd. "I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and this has never happened. I’m not drunk or anything. I’m gonna make this up to you. I’m sorry.”
On Saturday morning (June 23), Jinks updated fans on the situation via his Facebook page: He'd "suffered a pretty severe onset of vertigo" that spiked his blood pressure. Jinks postponed that night's show at the Blue Note in Columbia, Mo., due to the incident.
“Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers,” Jinks writes. "On the bright side, I have a couple of weeks to get right. Playing music is my life, and I’ll be back out sooner than later. Thanks again for the well wishes.”
