I recently shared with you the most dangerous city in Texas so it's only fair that I share with you the safest city in Texas.  You would probably never have assumed that a small town would have been listed as the most dangerous city, just like you could probably assume the safest city is a small town. You would be right!  The safest town in Texas is a place that I have never even heard of. There are so many suburbs of Dallas/Fort Worth so it's not a surprise that you and I may not have heard of it. The safest city in Texas is Trophy Club.

According to the city's website, Trophy Club is located west of DFW Airport and south of the western edge of Lake Grapevine and has a population of about 12,000 peopleThe median income for someone living in Trophy Club is about $63,000. The average housing cost per year is around $15,000.

According to Wikipedia, the town was built in the 1970s around a golf course. The town got its name based on the plan to house trophies of golf legend Ben Hogan at the country club.

The town was initially part of Westlake but was incorporated as its entity in 1985. The fist mayor was James "Jim" P. Carter, who served as Mayor from 1985 until 1999.

If you want to live near the Metroplex, this sounds like the perfect place. You will be close enough to do all the things in the Metroplex but still get the joy of small-town living and you aren't too far from DFW airport.

The other cities that made the list of the top ten are:

  • Highland Village
  • Colleyville
