You Can Help The Kids At St. Jude
We are in the middle of day two of our LoneStar 923 Country Cares for St. Jude Country Cares for St. Jude Kid's Radiothon. You guys have been so awesome so far. This hour we are working to purchase these therapy dolls.
These dolls are given to each patient at St. Jude to help the child understand what is about to happen. Before treatment ever begins, everything is explained using the doll. If a child is about to be given an IV, the doll gets an IV, if a child is about the have a port put in they put a port in the doll. This is a way for things not to seem so scary. It helps remove the fear of the unknown and to provide some comfort.
An estimated 400,000 children are afflicted with cancer each year. St. Jude's mission is finding cures and saving children. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened nearly 60 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer!
No family ever receives a bill for travel, treatment, housing, or food. St. Jude covers the cost of everything because the only thing they want a family to worry about is their child getting better.
You can be a part of that today by becoming a Partner In Hope! Be a Partner In Hope today by donating $19 a month on your credit card. You are going to get the all-new Love Music Stop Cancer shirt and know that you will be helping save a life at St. Jude.
