The Mayor of Uvalde, Texas, Don McLaughlin, called Beto O'Rourke a "sick son of a bitch" after O'Rourke interrupted Gov. Abbott, along with other state officials like Ted Cruz and Dan Patrick, during a presser after the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde.

Well, actually, McLaughlin's words were:

“No, you need to get his ass out of here, this isn’t the place to talk this over. Sir, you are out of line. Sir, you are out of line! Sir, you are out of line! Please leave this auditorium. I can’t believe you’re a sick son of a bitch that would come to a deal like this to make a political issue.”

O'Rourke, who began to walk away, then turned around to continue, to which McLaughlin responded:

“It’s on assh*les like you, why don’t you get out of here?”

Dan Patrick added the "You're out of line and an embarrassment" and somewhere in there, Cruz shouted out "sit down!"

This was a completely different McLaughlin from when he was interviewed by NBC News where he said that his towns hearts were broken but that his "community is strong and will come together after this tragedy."

O'Rourke didn't stop there, though. MSNBC cut from Gov. Abbott's presser to follow O'Rourke outside where he told the media that he wished someone stood up to Gov. Abbott when the El Paso shooting happened.

For his part, Gov. Abbott pointed to mental illness as the sole problem here and encouraged families to access the resources provided at their county fairplex.
