Today's Great Debate: Hit and Run. I absolutely, 100% believe that if you are EVER in any kind of an accident or collision with another vehicle, property, or a person--you should ALWAYS stop and get out of your car, exchange insurance information and make sure everyone is OK. Regardless of how bad the damage is or isn't to whatever you've hit. Or even if your own vehicle isn't bad enough to even report it to the insurance company like just having a minor scratch or two.

For one thing, it's illegal to leave the scene. If the Police find you afterward if you run from the scene, it'll be much worse for you with the law. So why make things harder on yourself? Honesty is always the best policy.

The bottom line is--things happen sometimes. No one is on their game 100% of the time in life and mistakes happen. I don't think any one of us ever leaves the house on any given day with the thought in our minds of: "Hey--you know what? I'm gonna crash into someone else's car today and take off!". Just be a good person, be an honest person, and stop, get out of your car, and own what you did. Yeah your insurance rates may go up a bit afterward, but at least you'll have done the right thing. And perhaps your own car can get repaired too--so that minor scratch that was tempting to just live with can also go away.
