According to NME Americans are spending an average of $47 a month on streaming services, which is up from $38 from last year.

Many people are turning to streaming services now more than ever before. A lot of these people are called "cord cutters" which means they are doing away with traditional cable. The use of streaming service has increased by 24% since the start of the pandemic.

According to the J.D. Power survey, the rise – from $34 average spend in April 2020, to the latest figures taken from December 2020 – has also seen 49% of viewers subscribing to four streaming services, up from 39% in April. As many as 13% said that they now use seven or more services.

They survey found that Netflix was the number one streaming service, with 81% of respondents saying they were subscribers, with Amazon Prime Video listed second at 65%, followed by Hulu at 56%, Disney Plus at 47%, HBO Max at 22%, Peacock at 18%, and Apple TV Plus at 14%.

Do you subscribe to any streaming services? I have Netflix, Amazon (only because it came with Prime shipping), I have Disney+ because of my cellphone carrier.  I never watch Disney+ at all. I watch Netflix every now and then and the only I have watched on Prime is "Yellowstone."

I know they do this on purpose but these streaming services take their best shows off TV and put them on the stream. Like Peacock for example but the new "Saved By the Bell" on stream, which means you will have to pay for it. HBO Maxx put the Fresh Prince of Bel Air reunion on their stream. But the on that bothers the most is Discovery's streaming service. They have taken the Property Brothers off TV and put them on the stream. Some of the crime documentaries from the ID channel are on their as well. I don't want to have to pay but for the ID channel I just might.

Where they get you is, they say it's only $4.99 a month but by the time you have a few of them it adds up.

Have any of you cut the cord and completely  use streaming services?
