The Texas Tech baseball team has announced its 2023 schedule and it is a doozy.

The schedule features 37 home games which is the most games the Red Raiders have hosted at home since 2019. That's also the team's last trip to the College World Series.

Texas Tech opens their season at home against Gonzaga in a series that starts on February 17th. The Red Raiders have plenty of teams on the schedule that have been in the NCAA tournament in recent seasons including the Shriners Children's College Classic opponents Michigan and Texas A&M.

This young Texas Tech team starts Big 12 play against the University of Texas, Oklahoma State, TCU and Oklahoma, before playing a back half of the schedule that featues Kansas, Kansas State, West Virginia and Baylor. Of the eight Big 12 series, four will be played in Lubbock while four are on the road.

Those first four series in Big 12 are generally regarded as the best four programs in the conference, aside from Texas Tech of course. That means the conference open for Texas Tech sets up really well if they can get through the first few series with some wins. If they do, they'll have a great opportunity at a Big 12 title.

Here's the full schedule for Texas Tech baseball.

The Big 12 was the only league to finish the 2022 season with over half of its membership ranked in the D1Baseball Top 25, which included the Red Raiders checking in at No. 24. They'll start this season inside the top 10. Texas Tech was also one of five Big 12 programs that earned a bid to the NCAA Championship a season ago.
