Texas Tech And Super Bowl Winner Patrick Mahomes Featured In A New Netflix Series
"I am just a kid from Texas Tech," that is what Patrick Mahomes told reporters right after winning Super Bowl 57. He would later be named MVP of the game. There may not have been many Kansas City Chiefs fans from Texas just a few years ago but there are a ton now, thanks to the kid from Texas Tech. This Texas native is now set to star in a Netflix series.
Patrick Mahomes, a young man who grew up in Whitehouse, Texas played high school played football and baseball. He would leave Whitehouse to play football and baseball at Texas Tech University, His junior year he decided to quit baseball and make his soul focus on football. Even though football was his focus he was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 2014 but did not sign.
In 2017 Mahomes was drafted 10th in the first round of the NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs to be the back up quarterback. After Alex Smith was traded, Patrick Mahomes became the Chiefs starting quarterback and the rest is history. In 2019 the kid from Texas Tech, as he says, would go on to win Super Bowl LIV and become the Super Bowl MVP.
Since he began his NFL career he has married his high school sweetheart Brittany and have had two children Sterling, and Patrick Lavon Mahomes III, who they call "Bronze."
