I know many of you will say, " you don't even have kids, how can you say something?" You are right I don't have kids and I can't even imagine how hard it is to be a parent these days. And the only thing I have to go off of is how I was raised and being an outsider looking in.

Remember back in the 80s when the news came on their trademark saying was "it's 10 o'clock do you know where your kids are?" We all blew it off and would laugh about it, but back then most parents knew where their kids were at 10 pm. There are so many parents who can't say the same thing these days, which is very sad, especially with all the technology we have these days.

I am going to tell you right now I had the meanest strictest mom ever growing up. As a kid I hated it but today I am so thankful for it. If you are like me mama knew everywhere I had been and everything I had done before I ever even got home. It used to drive me insane when I would ask my mom something and she would say no. I would ask her why and she would reply "because I am Mama and I said so."  That's all that ever had to be said. I get it things are different these days and by no means would I want to be a kid in today's world but when did parents stop being parents? I was afraid of my parents and what would happen if I got out of line. Kids these days don't care and have such a lack of respect for their parents and that is the parents' fault. Parents these days are so consumed in their own lives or too busy on social media or their own wants and needs that they take their eyes off their children.

In case you didn't know, your children are a direct reflection of you.

Parents have become so consumed with their own lives that they have taken their eyes off the well-being of their children. I hear so many parents say " that's on them, not me. It is on you! It's your responsibility as a parent to guide your children to the best life possible. It is your job to do your best to see that they don't get in trouble or end up harmed or even worse in jail or killed. Don't you want better for your children or do you just not care?

I am so shocked to hear the way kids speak to their parents. If we had ever spoken to an adult the way kids do these days, we wouldn't have been left with any teeth, our parents would have slapped us into next week. What happen to teaching your kids manners and respect for their elders?

I know kids will be kids and there will be mischief, but does there have to be a crime, that will absolutely ruin their lives?

Last weekend in Odessa a 15-year-old boy was arrested for the murder of another 15-year-old boy.  Where are these kids' parents?

Constantly kids are causing corruption and chaos during lunch at the restaurants near the school. What happens to them? Are there any repercussions for their actions? A few months ago a student horribly beat up a teacher and his mother praised him on social media. Are you kidding me? When I was a kid, it was always known that if you got in trouble at school, it was way worse at home. Do parents not discipline their children anymore?

Last week a six-year-old in Virginia took a gun to school and shot his teacher. What???? What on earth would ever give him the idea? Where did he get the gun? He's six years old!

When I see kids with their pants sagging down below their butts, I always say that their parents should be beaten with the belt their kids arent' wearing.

Everyone talks about the kind of world we will live in when we are old, you are determining that now by the way you raise your children.
