There has been a ton of attention surrounding the new season of The Voice, now that country superstar and anchor of the show, Blake Shelton will be coaching his final season. The new season premieres this Monday on NBC. The other coaches joining Blake this season are previous Voice winner and Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson, Chance The Rapper, and One Direction member Niall Horan.

The Voice is a singing competition not unlike other singing competitions where judges select their teams by hearing their voices. This will be the 23rd season of the voice. I can't believe Blake has been on the show for that long. He is the only original judge left on the show but sadly as we know this will be his last.

One surprise to this season is a contestant who hails from Odessa, Texas. According to his social media accounts, he is from Odessa but currently lives in Dallas.

I am happy to introduce to you Marcos Covos. According to a post on social media, music was his life for a very long time but made the tough decision to walk away from it. But something inside of him was urging him to give it one more try, so he decided to try out for The Voice. He said he decided to take "a leap of faith" and apparently it worked out because he stated he is going to be on The Voice.  As of now, we don't know whose team he will be on, we will just have to watch to find out. Let's show this hometown man our support!
