It is almost regular season time and that means all NFL teams must trim their rosters back to 53 players, those cuts included all quarterbacks except Dak Prescott.

According to WFAA-TV, Dallas cut 27 players before the deadline, and here is who they were:

  • G #60 Isaac Alarcon
  • DT #94 Josiah Bronson
  • DE #59 Markaviest Bryant
  • T #76 Aviante Collins
  • S #31 Tyler Coyle
  • RB #34 Malik Davis
  • QB #17 Ben DiNucci
  • WR #19 Dontario Drummond
  • C #64 James Empey
  • CB #29 C.J. Goodwin
  • QB #15 Will Grier
  • LB #47 Storey Jackson
  • LB #45 Malik Jefferson
  • G #62 Braylon Jones
  • C #65 Alec Lindstrom
  • K #19 Brett Maher
  • TE #84 Sean McKeon
  • LS #44 Jake McQuaide
  • QB #10 Cooper Rush
  • T #61 Amon Simon
  • WR #80 Brandon Smith
  • DE #52 Mika Tafua
  • S #40 Juanyeh Thomas
  • WR #16 T.J. Vasher
  • DT #91 Carlos Watkins
  • RB #32 Aaron Shampklin
  • CB #36 Isaac Taylor-Stuart

So all three QBs were waived that were backing up Dak, so what gives?

Well Todd Archer from ESPN says Rush and Grier will be back with the team in some form by the end of the weekend either on the practice squad or active roster.

"Don't be alarmed. It's roster manipulation at the moment to be prepared for moves to come over the next few days. They can have a wink-wink deal with Rush since he's a vested vet. Grier would be back if unclaimed as well," Archer tweeted. "Many of these moves by teams today are ways to work around the 53-man roster limit. In effect, they are going with 56-57-man rosters with how practice squad call-ups now work these days."

So don't get upset with the releasing of all the QBs, there is a plan as there always is and Dak Prescott will not be the lone quarterback on the roster for long.
