An unspeakable tragedy occurred yesterday in Uvalde, TX. Another devastating school shooting. More innocent, beautiful little lives were lost, along with 2 of their beloved teachers. We have all seen the television reports, the internet, social media and newspaper articles. I do not wish to retell the story, I will absolutely not go into a discussion about the politics of it all. I simply am heartbroken for the parents, the children, the families whose lives have changed forever, senselessly.

You see, I am a mother with a child the same age as these angels. For that reason alone my heartaches. I did exactly what many of us did last night. I hugged my child tighter. Held my baby, grateful, thankful for the gift that my child is in my life. I prayed over her as I do every night but quite possibly with more fervor than ever before.

I sincerely hope that in the days and weeks to come, we all continue to do the same with our children, no matter what age. All I could think to do this morning with the daily articles that I write was to pass along information. Information on how we as fellow Texans can help.

It is time to come together as we have had to do unfortunately many times in the past. How can we help? What can we do from afar? Along with our prayers of strength, healing, and hope, we can donate.
