McDonald’s fries may have a side effect

Most people would agree (that like french fries), that McDonald's Fries are good.  They may have a positive side effect for men

According to a Japanese study, the oil McDonald's uses to do the fries has an ingredient that has show to regrow hair on mice.  I'm curious why they were testing the ingredient on mice and how that came about?
