Lubbock Airport Gets Popular Nonstop Flight Returned
This is something we always get excited about in Lubbock, a popular direct flight is finally back for the area to enjoy.
Currently, from Lubbock, you can to Denver, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Dallas (Love Field & DFW), Austin and Houston, (only George Bush Intercontinental Airport.)
Some of these have just been readded in the past year like the one to Austin and Denver.
This month Southwest Airlines announced five new and 24 returning routes in its latest network expansion. The routes are a mix of year-round and seasonal, with a majority starting in September.
One of those routes affects us right here in Lubbock. They are bringing back the direct flight from Houston Hobby to Lubbock, Texas. They will have two Sunday round trips, that resume on September 10th, 2023.
For example, right now if you want to fly into Hobby airport you would have to go to Dallas or Austin first. I went and looked at their website and starting Sep. 10th they will have two direct flights on that day that are direct but the other days have none.
Hopefully, this is the step in the right direction to add more direct flights to Lubbock and more days as well.
