Jason Momoa Will Play ‘Fast & Furious 10’s Villain
Back in January, word hit the internet that Jason Momoa would be the latest beefy Hollywood star to join the Fast & Furious franchise for the saga’s upcoming tenth film. Fast 10 (the full ridiculous title has yet to be revealed) will be a two-part movie in the style of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. At the time the news broke, it wasn’t clear who Momoa was playing, or even whether he was going to be a good guy or a bad guy.
We still don’t know the exact details of his character, but Momoa himself revealed what’s he’s going to be doing: He’s Fast’s newest bad guy. Walking the red carpet at the premiere of The Batman, Momoa told Entertainment Tonight...
I'm gonna go do Fast 10, that's gonna be fun ... it's fun, I get to play the bad guy, which I haven't gotten to do for a while. Now, I get to be the bad boy. A very flamboyant bad boy.
The two-part Fast 10 will supposedly conclude the series once and for all. (Supposedly.) The first part is scheduled to open in theaters on May 19, 2023, with part two (or Fast 11 if you prefer) expected to follow some time in 2024. Despite repeated overtures from series star and producer Vin Diesel, longtime Fast co-star Dwayne Johnson is not expected to return to the saga for either of these final installments. (Diesel even sent The Rock messages on social media claiming “I say this out of love... but you must show up.” I can’t believe that didn’t work!)
So Fast 10 has lost a Rock but gained a Momoa. Subbing in Aquaman for Black Adam? That’s not a terrible trade.
