If you love to view beautiful Christmas lights, well one of the best according to Travel+Leisure is right here in Texas.

Travel+Leisure did the best displays for each state, so if you love driving and looking at Christmas light displays and you are traveling to another state, check the list to see if the best in that state is going to be where you are traveling or maybe close enough to take a quick trip to go see.

"While travelers fly halfway around the world to see the European Christmas lights illuminating holiday markets, we have some exquisite displays right here in the U.S.," the Travel+Leisure report said.

So where can you go right here in Texas? The capital city of Austin.

The Austin Trail of Lights is the best in the state according to rankings by Travel+Leisure and it features two million lights and 70 displays located in Zilker Park.

It was also ranked one of the best in the U.S. by CNN Travel and the best in Texas by Houstonia Magazine.

For over 50 years the Trail of Lights light show has been a popular part of the holidays in Austin with over 1,500 volunteers putting together all of the lights and displays taking about 15,000 hours to get it all finished.

The Austin Trail of Lights features the world's tallest man-made free-standing Christmas Tree, the Zilker Tree, standing over 155 feet tall.

So make your plans now to see the Austin Trail of Lights going on from December 8-23, 2022 and you can get tickets by going to the event's website.
