Haunted Trails, Pumpkins and Booze: Why I Love This Texas Fall Destination
There are certain places around the Big Country that I look forward to visiting every single year, and Denton Valley Farms near Clyde, Texas, is definitely one of them. Seriously, if you've never been, you're missing out on one heck of a fall adventure.
My wife and I absolutely love this place, and after looking back through the pictures from our visit last year, I'm already itching to get back out there.
Haunted Houses, Alien Shooting and a Little Liquid Courage
One of my favorite things about Denton Valley Farms is that there's something for just about everybody.
We love running through the haunted attractions, getting the crap scared out of us, and blasting away at targets on the interactive paintball ride. And yes, shooting at aliens is right up my alley. Nothing says fall in West Texas quite like pumpkins, monsters, and a little paintball action, right?
Of course, they also have adult beverages, including beer, wine, and daiquiris. So you can grab yourself a cold one while enjoying everything the farm has to offer.
Pumpkins, Corn Mazes and More Fall Fun Near Abilene
And let's talk pumpkins. Holy cow, do they have pumpkins!
Every time we go, we end up hauling home a bunch of them. They've got a massive pumpkin patch, along with corn mazes, hayrides, train rides, a petting zoo, food, homemade ice cream, and tons of family-friendly attractions.
For 2026, they've added even more activities, bringing the total to over 40 attractions.
Why I Can't Wait to Go Back to Denton Valley Farms
What makes this place so awesome is that it's not just for kids. Whether you're taking the whole family, planning a date night, or just looking for something different to do around Abilene, it's worth the trip.
The fall season runs now through November 1, 2026, and the farm is less than 30 minutes from Abilene.
