Ah the holidays... Whether you travelled, stayed home, or a mixture of the two--I hope you enjoyed time with those who mean the most to you. As for our household--we stayed here in Texas and my step daughter came to stay for a week... Had fun with t he fam playing games in the dining room on New Years Eve with the snow coming down...

And of course--everyone beat me at just about everything.... EXCEPT for "Catch Phrase"... I do pretty well at that one! We were sad to see her get on a plane to go home to the Chicago area but it sure was fun having her here (and enjoying all the great food and holiday snacks like cookies etc while she was here!)

Of course--every year the challenge is--do I even attempt to make a New Year's Resolution? I know many people make more than one--but for me, it's always hard enough to be able to stick to just ONE--let alone two, three, or more...

There are always the typical ones like the one in the photo above--quit smoking (so blessed I never even started that one--I've heard it's so hard to quit once you start!). And then there's the usual "Lose Weight" one-which is always hard no matter HOW you choose to go about it. You sit there and think "I'll just change my eating habits". Way easier said than done! I love my pizza and pasta and bread (and WINE!)... I've tried this path several times in the past and can never seem to hang on very long-it's like setting yourself up for failure.

Then there's the whole "I'll just walk a lot and work out" way. You think to yourself that you can work off what you eat and so you don't feel guilty enjoying your favorite foods. That seldom works. I imagine its a combination of the two that is actually successful. And I know there are SO MANY plans out there with ways to lose--but they are all so beyond being able to be adhered to for me.... I guess I'm just hopeless lol... Ah well. Time to go for a walk. Thanks for reading my ramblings and enjoy the nicer weather now that all the snow has melted!
