How many times have you said you were going to get or wanted to get your TSA precheck so you don't have to go through all of the mess with security at the air port. If you are like me you always say you are going to get it done and get to the air port and walk to the security check point and think dang, I was going to get precheck status. I always tell myself I will get done in time for my next trip. Well, this time I finally got it done.

My friend that I travel with a lot and I decided after our trip to the Virgin Islands we decided to actually get it done. She actually did it before I did because when I checked it out the closest place for me to get it done was Hobbs, New Mexico, Austin, El Paso, or Fort Worth. I thought I could get it done here in Midland, but I found out that the only time you can get your TSA precheck is when they have a pop up event.

What are the benefits of having TSA precheck?

According to TSA.gov, here are the benefits: TSA PreCheck® provides expedited security screening benefits for flights departing from U.S. Airports. Global Entry provides expedited U.S. customs screening for international air travelers when entering the United States.

Getting this was probably one of the easiest things I have done. Driving to Hobbs was the hardest part. All you have to do is fill out a few questions online, make an appointment, and appear in person. When I got to my appointment, I had to provide two forms of ID, provide my social security number and my finger prints. Two days later I was approved.  Now I free to travel about the country.
