What are Beer Cakes?

I know people sometimes make desserts with beer, but this type of beer cake is literally made of beer. I can't even say for sure if these types of cakes are called beer cakes, but I am calling them that as the obvious choice.

Beer cakes are cakes made out of beer cans. Some people even like to get fancy and add scratch-offs, mini bottles, and other gifts. I think there is just something beautiful about a simplistic stack of beers.
