Old Zoo Nature Trails, consist of two different hiking trails, but you don't have to be a professional hiker to enjoy these trails. Each trail is less than a mile long and has an elevation gain of less than 150 feet. The trails will take you through a zoo that was built in the 1920s and later abandoned after a few bizarre things happened. According to Only In Your State:

The zoo itself wasn't very big and it didn't have a ton of animals but vacationers still came to see it because had a cottage campground with a resort-style pool. After reports of a bear being poisoned and the death of a deer, the zoo quickly began to decline. The pool and campground remained open into the 1970s but the cages were unkept and nature began to take them over. In 2021 a non-profit group, SAFE, Students, Athletes, Families, and Education took over the area and began to clean it up and turn the property into a hiking area.
