Twitter Texas has a nice ring to it but will it actually happen?

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, Jim Schwertner is the President and CEO of Schwertner Farms in Schwertner, TX, and has offered Elon Musk 100 acres of free land to bring Twitter's headquarters to Texas.

Abbott doubled down on the deal by declaring the area would be a "free speech zone" and he would rename it "Twitter, Texas"

Gov. Abbott wrote in a Tweet to Musk, "Think about it."

If you haven't been under a rock, you know Elon Musk bought Twitter last Tuesday, April 26 for $44 billion, that same day Abbott sent his Tweet hoping he would bring his newly acquired company to Texas like he did Tesla, SpaceX, and The Boring Company.

Schwertner, TX is in Williamson County about 38 miles north of Austin and that is where the 100 acres of free land offered by Jim Schwertner would be located.

Musk has not commented on the offers to bring Twitter to Texas yet, but he did Tweet on April 27, "Let's make Twitter maximum fun!"

Musk also Tweeted that the social media platform should be "politically neutral," which means "upsetting the far right and the far left equally."

He also said that DMs should be encrypted so there's no way anyone can "spy on or hack" your messages.

So it is a sit-and-wait situation right now as we see if Elon Musk wants to bring Twitter headquarters to Texas like he has his other companies, namely Tesla and SpaceX. As we say in radio, "stay tuned."
