Got Ya! Amarillo Zoo’s Fake News
Earlier this week a screenshot of a video outside the Amarillo Zoo went viral because it showed some sort of creature outside the gates of the zoo. The incident supposedly occurred back on May 21st.
The zoo took to social media to ask for help identifying what this creature could possibly be:
"We just want to let the Amarillo community have some fun with this," said Michael Kashuba, the City of Amarillo's director of Parks and Recreation. "It is important to note that this entity was outside the Amarillo Zoo. There were no signs of attempted entry into the zoo. No animals or individuals were harmed. There were no signs of criminal activity or vandalism."
The City released a statement saying, "For now, the strange visitor is a UAO – Unidentified Amarillo Object," then adding: "In the spirit of fun if not curiosity, the City of Amarillo is letting the public offer ideas on the identity of the UAO. (Video footage is not available.)"
A UAO? Really? An unidentified Amarillo Object? That should have been everyone's first clue, that something was up.
Any press is good press, right? Whatever it was, it worked. It had the entire country and maybe even the world wondering what could have possibly been in Amarillo.
Do I believe that there maybe be some unidentified life forms out there, maybe! But do I think there was a werewolf kind of creature lurking outside of the Amarillo Zoo, I don't think so!
I myself have used some fake news to draw attention here. It did exactly what they were wanting to say hats off to them. Don't hate the player, hate the game!
