Don’t Miss Carly Pearce This Saturday For The 9/11 Memorial
If you are 20 years or older you can probably remember exactly where you were and exactly what you were doing on the morning of September 11, 2001. As you know that was the day the United States came under attack when airplanes were flown into the Twin Towers in New York City.
The world, especially the country stood still, not knowing what would happen next. Americans united like they hadn't done in years. It is a day we will never forget. During that time first responders responded from all over the country.
In honor of those who lost their lives responding to this horrible tragedy, The Professional Firefighters Association started the Tall City 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb every September. This year's event will be held on Saturday, September 7th. The day's events will begin with the stair climb at Astound Broadband Stadium. Everyone is invited to participate. First responders will be wearing their gear and civilians can wear athletic wear. All ages are welcome to attend. Registration will start at 7 am and the climb will begin at 9 am.
Later that evening everyone is invited downtown to Centennial Park in downtown Midland. The night's entertainment will include a performance by country music star Carly Pearce, as well as food, drinks, and entertainment for the kids.
