Who doesn't love bull riding? Here in West Texas, I think most of us have a heart for rodeo, especially bull riding!

Chevron announced their partnership with the Ariat Texas Rattlers, which is one of the founding teams of the PBR, (Professional Bull Riders), to bring the PBR to the Ector County Coliseum, Thursday night, June 20th. You aren't going to want to miss the PBR Chevron Showdown. The event will also be followed by live entertainment from The Stateline Band.

The PBR Chevron Showdown will combine the Ariat Rattlers and members of the Odessa College Wranglers rodeo team.

Not only will this bring such a great event like the PBR to West Texas but it will also be helping out a lot of West Texas organizations. The proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit the Odessa College Rodeo team. Chevron will also donate through the PBR Challenger Series. For every 8-second ride that one of the Ariat Rattles completes, Chevron will donate $800 to various non-profits throughout the Permian Basin, including the Midland Children’s Rehabilitation Center Hippotherapy Program, FFA programs in MISD and ECISD, and the Reeves County Junior Livestock Show. The Series has the opportunity to bring over $50,000 to these local organizations.

Tickets can be purchased at any local Kent Kwick store or HERE! Tickets are $20 in advance.

Who are the Airat Rattlers?

The Airat Rattlers are the very first bullriding team to come out of Dallas/Fort Worth. They are coached by legendary bull rider and PBR co-founder Cody Lambert. The Rattlers are a team of bull riders who compete as a team instead of as individuals. These riders compete in the PBR Camping World Team Series, which consists of 12 events during the season.

The event information was announced at Chevron with members of Chevron and the Ariat Rattlers. Both parties expressed their excitement:

“We are bringing the world’s best in bull riding to the global stage of energy and making positive and lasting impacts on our communities one eight-second ride at a time,” said Nicole Barber, Chevron MCBU public and government affairs manager.  “The PBR Chevron Showdown will create memorable, family-friendly experiences, celebrate West Texas culture, and support organizations that play pivotal roles our Permian communities. We’re looking forward to showing the world what happens when the spirit of West Texas meets the power of partnership.”

“Permian Basin sports fans are among Texas' most fervent, especially when it comes to bull riding,” said Chad Blankenship, Ariat Texas Rattlers general manager. “In partnership with Chevron, we look forward to having our chance to give back in a meaningful way to deserving communities who have helped grow the Rattler fandom, and for the opportunity to welcome the Midland-Odessa community in support of the 2023 PBR Teams Champion Ariat Texas Rattlers at both the PBR Chevron Showdown in June and PBR Rattler Days in Fort Worth this September.”

Tickets will be available in a few weeks. You will be able to get them at any local Kent Kwik stores or right here with us.  We will also have a chance for you to win tickets.
